I am a short end of the stick...
Dude, check out what my sister saw in downtown earlier this week...

It ran right into a Rite Aid. She and her coworker had to run to avoid it and the debris that got thrown out.

And there she is, validating that she was there, he he he. Man, she encounters the craziest stuff sometimes...
I was here first!!!
You know, seniority has it's ups and definitely has it's downs as well. The grandfather rule at a blackjack table...bitchin. Seniors getting special priveleges(like off-campus lunch, or free period) in high school...dope. There are a bunch of other things, which do not presently come to mind, but I know there are. However, seniority DOES suck sometimes. Like with promotions and stuff like that. I just don't think it's fair that in certain situations, one individual gets a promotion over another based on seniority(longevity) rather than merit. It does not serve as very good motivation for the more ambitious and eager people to move up, because they know that the likelihood of moving up is slim to none if there are other people ahead in line, that have been there longer. I just do not and can not agree that seniority wins over merit. That means that a more deserving individual can get the proverbial shaft just because they haven't been there long enough. Even if it was me that was up for a step up and someone that hasn't been here that long got it because they deserved it, then that should send me a message that I need to work my arse of a little harder. Anyway, yeah, seniority sucks.
And lastly...

I am the end of a season...
I am still hurting...
I would say "great season, Lakers," if it were only true. I would have to say, despite the success of coming back to the playoffs after missing it last year, it was a rather disappointing season. They could've been so much better. They were up 3-1 against the suns and were practically one rebound away from a series against the clippers that would've been sooo frickin awesome. But no, they completely fall apart and couldn't win 1 out of 3 damn games. I would've rather have seen them get swept then to have gone through all that heartache man...it's just so gut-wrenching everytime I think about what could've been and what happened. They didn't even show up to the last frickin game...except Kobe of course. And even he lost hope in the second half, when it was obvious no one else wanted to play. That was such a humiliating game as a Laker fan. And that 3-1 lead and hopes of Laker redemption vanished. Now I have 4 tickets to Clippers Home Game 2 that I can't go to(because it's on Sunday) and don't totally want to either, and have all summer long to think about the future of my team. It's time to fine tune man...I wonder what they're gonna do. I've heard of the possibility of a Kwame/Lamar trade for KG....which is a small possibility if that. D George, the last link with Kobe to the 3-peat team, is probably not gonna come back because he has to take a paycut, and as we've all seen, that just doesn't happen anymore. Smush has to go man, I'm sick of his inconsistency and bad D. He was playing so well in the beginning of the season and totally dropped off. I guess we'll just have to wait and see though...here's to next year...
At least we got to drink our troubles away after the game. It was fun playing drinking games...it was like college. Kings is a crazy game! Isn't it? Isn't Kings a crazy game? ha ha ha, I love that rule...everything has to be said in the form of a question, right? ha ha ha. Anyway, we didn't end up drinking til too late because I think we were already halfway if not close to drunk by the time the game ended. And that was at like 8:30 already, he he he. Fun times fun times....
I wasn't hung over from the night before so I went to go play in our first sunday league game in San Marino this weekend...too bad the other team freakin forfeited. I hate forfeits. But at least we got to run and play pickup...we ran for the entire time man, no rests...40 min running clock...that was tiring.
day's goin by faster than I would've thought it would...I forgot my softball ish at the LB house so looks like I won't be playing today...I even went home for lunch to pick it up...and I STILL forgot it. Wasn't meant to be yo...maybe i'll stop by practice anyway, they might have an extra glove hopefully...

I am a bead of sweat on my brow...
I can't even begin to describe the pain I felt, and still feel from last night's game...but I don't wanna go into it anymore. I am tired. Game seven...ONE more game, Win or GO HOME. Please keep your thoughts and prayers with the Lakers this weekend. Please...
I've been working/not working pretty evenly throughout the day today. We have to clean up for this 2s initiative thing and take all the boxes out from under our desks and all that. I hate that...because the boxes just go from under our desks and temporarily into another area, and return under our desks as soon as the inspections are over. It's crap. The sometimes even ask you to take down your decorations on your desk...THAT is crap. They better not ask me to, cuz that'll irritate the crap out of me. I don't understand how some people think that it's more productive to take away pictures of your loved ones and stuff you like that you have in your work area. If anything, it makes my work station more likeable and I don't hate sitting here as much and I do more work...so to speak, he he he. Oh well, as long as I'm living under corporate america's roof, I guess I have to live by their rules...
I haven't really been training for the mud run as much as I'd like to. I've been running a few miles a week and playing basketball, and mostly lifting weights. I need to throw in some hill training and some stadiums and stuff...or else I'm in for a doozy of a mud-run. Only about 5 or 6 weeks left til the big day...krikey.
Anyway, Happy Cinco(sp?) de Mayo ya'll! I hope you guys have a good celebration today and do whatever it is you do for this holiday.
And lastly, but definitely not leastly(he he he), HAPPY EARLY B-DAY to MOM who celebrates her 64th b-day this weekend. Love ya mom!

I am justice served...
This just in...Raja Bell has been suspended 1 game w/o pay. Mother-effer. Good. Too bad though, Kobe won't get to light his ass up tomorrow.
I've been so caught up in the Lakers playoff series that I never got to comment on Detroit passing up on Leinart to pick up Sims in the first round...verrrry questionnable...i can't believe they'd pass up on an instant impact QB especially since they JUST cut ties with Harrington...wtf man...wtf. Granted, they still have no o-line, but you just don't pass up on a guy like that. It's like Houston passing up on Reggie. Stupid stupid moves. The lions didn't even pick up ANY o-line guys!!! Looks like we're in for another tough year...

I am the steam coming out of my ears...
So they didnt' close it out last night...and I would chaulk up the loss and give full credit to the Suns for a game well-played, but it wasn't just a game well-played on the Suns' part. Why? Because the Lakers aren't only playing the Phoenix Suns, they're playing against the refs, and the league's demand to extend this series further than it has to go. Even Sunday's game was filled with it's share of non-calls for the Lakers and calls for the Suns...I seriously hate this, and what makes it more ridiculous is that PHEONIX complains that there's some conspiracy against THEM?!?!?! Here's proof of the refs being against us...
The delay of game calls - How do you call Kobe tossing the ball to the ref(as I've seen hundreds of times, to actually SPEED the game up) a DELAY of game? And THEN, Sasha throwing the ball against the pads, when THEY are in possession of the ball, a SECOND delay for a technical?
the travelling calls - such as the travelling calls on Kwame , which were total BS, and the NON-travelling call on the absolutely BLATANT travel by Steve Nash. That and the other turnovers tallied to 18. 18 Turnovers... Turnovers turn into opponent points. Garbage.
Offensive fouls - The offensive fouls called against the Lakers were incredible. And those offensive fouls are turnovers too.
Free throws - the free throws, they(the Suns) only shot 26 for the whole game, but 20 came in the first half. And the Suns averaged, AVERAGED, 15 per GAME....PER GAME!!! WTF is that? And yeah, they didn't shoot that many in the 2nd half, but then by that point the game was already out of control and the Suns are pulling away... But worst of all...it was stuff like THIS that insensed me so much about the game...and why I hate the Suns so much:

And then to hear Nash's postgame comments, check Cicely's blog for that...but dude, I've just lost respect for the man. No word yet on a suspension for Bell, but he just screwed his team...
Lakers, KILL those Suns tomorrow!!!!

I am a another day late...

This post should have come through yesterday, but considering I didn't go to work and practically slept the ENTIRE day, it makes sense. Anyway...
What a weekend, what a weekend!
My weekend started by going the Suns/Lakers game 3 @ Staples on Friday with Cic, Chris, and Iya. OF COURSE it was great game, especially because we won and took a 2-1 lead! Immediately after the game, Cic and I headed out to help out at the retreat for the weekend. It always feels good to help out at the retreats, I just get a rewarding feeling from it. And yes, sleep is sacrificed, but it's all worth it. I actually left for a part of the retreat to attend Lakers/Suns game 4, which was hands down the craziest game I've ever been to in my life!!!. It was absolutely insane and we seriously went delirious in the Staples Center. Everyone was hugging and cheering and about to cry. It was awesome. I went back to the retreat...for the last few activities and then and had to drive all the way back to LA to pick up Cicely's car before driving back home to LB. I was so tired that I decided to just crash at my folks' place and ended up calling in sick yesterday and seriously, I slept practically the whole day. I woke up to eat, watch a little TV, but went back to sleep for a few more hours...it was pretty nice. I still went to bed at like midnight last night, so I got a ton of sleep. There should be no reason for me to be tired today...none.
Went to work out during lunch today...those workouts are good and bad. Good in that it forces me to stay focused during my workout because I have a limited time to workout, but bad in that I have to rush. I felt so frickin weak today...I haven't lifted at all since last week wednesday, and even then it wasn't much. I think I didn't really do chest and arms last week either...that's my excuse. I need to run more again, it's been about 5 or 6(that long already?) weeks since the marathon and I've really tried to take it easy on the knees. It's time to get my butt back into gear. I'll probably start running the 3-4 milers again 3x a week next week. This week, maybe once or 2x will be good. The mudrun is fast approaching!
Let's close out the series tonight baby! GO LAKERS!!!
